Volunteer CEO of TEAM Punta Gorda, a citizen-based community service organization established in the wake of Hurricane Charley, from 2007 to 2013
Nancy provided collaborative leadership that led to:
- Formation of the Punta Gorda History Center
- Development of the city's popular yellow bicycle loaner program, the only such program in Florida
- Creation of the Artists' Workshop, called the Artisans' Atelier, in Herald Court Centre downtown
- Creation of Charlotte County's first community garden at the South County Regional Park
Served as Ride Director of the annual Punta Gorda Pedal and Play in Paradise Bicycle Tour from 2011 to 2013 that brought riders to our community from all over Florida and beyond.
Is a member of the City's One Community -- One Message marketing team.
Was a co-creator of the marketing theme "Punta Gorda -- It's Happening on the Harbor."
Was a recipient of the 2012 Joanie Award presented by the Charlotte County Cultural Center for her "exceptional commitment to volunteerism, leadership, creativity, cooperation and hard work, and initiative and willingness to help with tasks to make Charlotte County a better place in which to live."
Is an active member of the Board of Directors of the Punta Gorda History Center. She is a former ex-officio member of the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Main Street Punta Gorda Board of Directors and the Punta Gorda Beautification Committee.
Is a graduate of Leadership Charlotte Class of 2009, a Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce program.
Is an active University of Florida Master Gardener, providing horticulture support and education to the community.
Is a member of the Burnt Store Isles Association, Burnt Store Isles Boat Club, Twin Isles Country Club, Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, and Chapter HN of the philanthropic P.E.O. International.
